Terms of Service
The rules of the wire. By putting Computer in your server you agree to these.
THE PLAIN-LANGUAGE VERSION
- Don't be a jerk, don't be a creep, don't break Discord's rules.
- You're responsible for what people do on your server's phone line. If staff ignore abuse, the whole server gets cut off.
- Registering a phone jack exposes that channel to strangers. Use a channel you don't mind being public.
- It's a free hobby project. It can break, it can vanish, and nobody owes you anything.
1. ACCEPTING THESE TERMS
These Terms govern your use of Computer ("the Bot"), including the murder-mystery game (/sus), the cross-server telephone (/phone), and the ship phone (/user).
By adding the Bot to a server, running a Bot command, or clicking I AGREE on the code of conduct, you accept these Terms. If you don't accept them, don't use the Bot.
On a server, the person who accepts is the server's representative — usually an admin. Adding the Bot to a server is treated as that server accepting these Terms on behalf of every member who later uses it. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must accept for you.
2. WHO RUNS IT
Computer is an independent hobby project published by Neptune Productions under the Discord user neptunetheii (GitHub: notmicrosoft2000-cmd). It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Discord Inc., and it is not an official Discord product.
The Bot is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind.
3. USING THE BOT
You need
- A Discord account in good standing, and you must be at least 13 years old, or have a parent or guardian accepting for you.
- Permission to install the Bot in whatever server you're using it in.
What you agree not to do
- Break Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. Those apply here too.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or dox anyone — inside the game, on the telephone, or anywhere else.
- Impersonate a person, an organization, or another server.
- Send sexual content involving minors, or sexual content to anyone who hasn't indicated they're interested. Zero tolerance; the server gets cut.
- Abuse the telephone to spam, flood, advertise, scrape, or evade a block.
- Exploit the Bot — probing for vulnerabilities, reverse-engineering private endpoints, or abusing a bug for advantage.
- Attempt to interfere with the Bot's operation, including flooding it with commands.
- Use the Bot for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes someone else's rights.
Fair use
Some actions are rate-limited on purpose — relaying messages between servers is throttled to keep things usable for everyone. Don't write scripts to work around limits.
4. YOUR SERVER'S RESPONSIBILITY
This is the section admins need to read, so it's the blunt one.
SERVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR USERS
The Bot relays messages between real servers run by strangers. Individual users can't be blocked by us reliably — they're anonymous behind a server. That means your server's staff are the enforcement point.
- You are responsible for the content relayed through your phone channel and for the behaviour of anyone using your line.
- Register a channel you're willing to open up. Everything sent to your number appears in the channel you registered. Don't register a staff-only or moderation channel.
- Staff must respond to complaints. If your users repeatedly break the code of conduct and staff don't act, the entire server can be blacklisted from the network.
- Unregistering isn't a shield. Removing the Bot, or unregistering your line, ends phone access but doesn't erase the record. See the Privacy Policy.
- Keep the channel clean. Set the filters, use block lists, and check who you grant trusts to.
Content filters are ON by default for profanity, slurs, links, and GIFs. Any server can trust another to skip filtering. Trusting someone you don't know means their messages bypass your filters entirely.
5. CODE OF CONDUCT — ALL USERS
This is the text every server accepts when it joins the phone network:
- No slurs, hate speech, or harassment — ever. Zero tolerance.
- No spam, flooding, or link-dumping — through the wire or in voicemails.
- No inappropriate content for minors — this is a public line.
- No impersonation, doxxing, or sharing personal information.
- Users are responsible for their own messages — but the server is responsible for its users. If a user breaks these rules repeatedly and staff don't act, the whole server can be blacklisted.
- Reports matter.
/phone reportafter a bad call saves the transcript and flags it to operators. Don't abuse it. - Admins may blacklist servers that break the rules or shelter users who do.
Breaking rule 1, 3, or 4 leads to immediate disconnection from the network. Breaking the others gets warnings first, unless it's serious.
6. HOW WE MODERATE
Enforcement is a judgement call by a very small team of operators. Here's how it actually works, so there are no surprises:
- Reports first.
/phone reportcaptures the transcript of the call in progress. That transcript is what operators read. Without a report, we generally have nothing to look at. - Evidence beats vibes. Operators act on transcripts, not on someone complaining that a server is "toxic."
- Graduated response. Warnings, filter tightening, then blacklisting. Immediate blacklisting for slurs, hate speech, or sexual content involving minors.
- False reports are a violation. Filing a report to harass a server you dislike gets your server cut too.
- Appeals. A blacklisted server can appeal through the official Discord server. Appeals are reviewed by an operator who wasn't involved in the original call, where possible.
Operators are volunteers reading this in their spare time. If we take a few days to answer an appeal, that's the honest reason, not a policy.
7. REPORTING AND TAKEDOWN
If something happens that shouldn't — harassment, hate speech, or content involving minors — here's the fastest path:
- Report it to Discord via discord.com/report. For anything involving minors, go straight to Discord and to law enforcement. Do not wait for us.
- Report the call in Discord with
/phone reportwhile it's happening — that preserves the transcript. - Contact us using the details in Section 14, including your server name and, if you have it, the other server's number.
- Tell your own server's staff so they can act on their end.
WHAT A REPORT CAPTURES
A call report stores the full transcript of the call, meaning the messages of every participant, not just the person you're reporting. That's deliberate — a transcript nobody keeps can't be reviewed — but you should know it before you file one.
We'll act on clear abuse, and we don't require you to have been personally insulted first. Threats, doxxing, and content involving minors get acted on the same day, weekends included.
8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
- Our stuff. The Bot's name, code, art, written text, and design belong to Neptune Productions, published under the repository's licence. You can read and run the source under those terms; you don't get to resell it, rebrand it, or pass it off as yours.
- Your stuff. Your messages, custom names, catchphrases, and pronouns stay yours. We store and relay them to operate the game — see the Privacy Policy — and we claim no ownership over them.
- Not affiliated with Among Us. Computer is an Among Us style game. It is not endorsed by or affiliated with Among Us or Innersloth. "Among Us" is a trademark of its owner, used here only to describe the genre. If that matters legally to you, say so and we'll reword it.
- No warranties on IP claims. We don't make any promise about the state of rights in anything relayed through the telephone network, and we can't adjudicate a dispute between two strangers' servers.
9. AI-GENERATED CONTENT
Bot players can be powered by a language model. When that happens:
- Bot lines are machine-generated and may be inaccurate, repetitive, offensive, or nonsensical. Don't treat them as statements by a real person.
- Bots can hallucinate. They are a party game mechanic, not a source of truth. Never rely on a bot's claim about who's innocent.
- Meeting chat is sent to a third-party AI provider for this purpose. Full detail, and how to opt out, is in Privacy Policy Section 9.
- You consent to this by enabling it — either as a server admin, or by playing on a server where it's enabled. If you don't want your chat sent to a third party, opt out via
/sus privacy, or ask your admin to disable it server-wide.
AI chat is off unless configured. With it off, bots use fixed scripted lines and no third party is involved at all.
10. YOUR DATA
Full detail is in the Privacy Policy. The short version of your rights here:
/sus export— see everything held about you, as a summary plus raw JSON./sus forget— erase your profile, release your extension, reset your stats. Irreversible./sus privacy— view and change your AI-sharing setting./phone forget— staff can unregister a listing and purge that server's call history and voicemails.
Nothing requires emailing anyone or filing a form. If you'd rather do it by hand, that's fine too — see Section 14.
11. NO WARRANTY
The Bot is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or available at any particular time. Specifically:
- Games can be lost. State lives in the Bot's memory. A restart, a deploy, or a crash ends in-progress games. Don't treat a game as something valuable.
- Calls can drop. Calls end when a server leaves, a channel is deleted, or the Bot restarts.
- Numbers and stats can reset. Extensions are reassigned when a profile is erased; counters can be lost in a restore.
- Other servers are strangers. We provide filtering and a blacklist, but we can't vouch for anyone's behaviour or make their users obey anything.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions. If yours doesn't, the exclusion applies only as far as it legally can.
12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neptune Productions and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, reputation, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Bot or anything relayed through it.
This includes harm from:
- Content other users send through the telephone network, whether or not we filtered it.
- A server being blacklisted, or a block being missed.
- Bot downtime, lost games, dropped calls, or reset numbers.
- AI-generated bot lines, including anything offensive or defamatory a model produced.
- Your server's own staff failing to moderate their users.
This is a free hobby project. Nobody is being paid, so there is no deep pocket behind any promise here. Read that as honesty, not as a threat.
13. CHANGES AND TERMINATION
Changing these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Bot develops. Material changes will be reflected on this page along with a new effective date. If this page and the bot ever disagree, treat the bot as the truth and this page as the bug — tell us and we will fix it.
Terminating access
You can stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server or running /sus forget. We can suspend or terminate access, for you or for a whole server, if these Terms or the code of conduct are broken — including by refusing a warning after a serious one, or by sheltering users who keep breaking the rules.
Blacklisting cuts off phone access immediately, tears down any live call, and stops the server from relaying messages. It can be appealed.
Ending the project
This is a hobby project and can be discontinued at any time. If it ends, we will say so and post what we can. No data export guarantee is made beyond what /sus export and /phone forget give you at the time.
14. CONTACT & EFFECTIVE DATE
Effective date: 5 October 2026.
Questions, appeals, or a data request: open an issue on the support server, or reach the operator on Discord as neptunetheii or by email at neptunetheii@proton.me.
